Early Years and Lessons

I was the most curious and active of my three siblings. It was really more like a streak of reckless innocence caused by the happy abandonment inside of me. My family immigrated to Canada when I was three years old. Not knowing any English forced us kids to learn pretty quickly. I was a tomboy in elementary school trying to assert my way through the childhood pain of being an outsider with a language barrier. Making friends was challenging between the bullying, name calling, and hair pulling. It was also the most happy and rewarding moment of many first accomplishments – learning to swim, winning first prize at the Grade 3 Spelling Bee contest, going to the shopping mall with my sister. It was a joy to bond with other kids who introduced me to Kraft Dinner!, homemade German sweet snacks, and Italian signature puff pastries each day after school. That childlike wonder, excitement, and my thirst to experience more was always present.

I realize now that, even now my assertiveness, curiosity, and pure joy is the fuel that propels me through my life experiences.

Fast forward, after graduating from University in Hospitality & Tourism Management, I worked primarily in luxury hotels; planning, executing galas, weddings, and social functions. Entertaining and serving dynamic conferences and summits with thousands of attendees for grand opening events for new hotels in Ukraine and the Philippines. My journey took me from Toronto to Whistler, San Francisco and the last stop was Singapore.  Incredible life changing moments that I am forever grateful for in those 18 years of hospitality service.  I enjoyed discovering the rich culture and warm people from many countries all over the world, through and beyond my diverse work location.

Injury and Healing

These layers of experiences and emotions have supported me to take a different path while I continue to help people. I had an innocent but pivotal moment when I experienced my own physical injury and healed through practicing Pilates exercises. My recovery inspired my desire to help people heal from their injuries as I did.

A wonderful Pilates instructor taught me the benefits of restoring strength and support to avoid further injuries. My newfound activity boosted my awareness, self-appreciation, and confidence due to Pilates being a mind & body practice. Through physical healing and strengthening my alignment was restored, guiding my way to a happier, independent, and empowered person living a fit life.

“The body expresses from what the mind tells it so.“

My life’s work would take another turn when the pandemic caused so much change in the World. My self-discovery started testing me in January 2020. It strengthened me, not only physically, but even more so mindfully, emotionally, and spiritually.  I dug deeply into my layers, from childhood to the present day, to recognize that our mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing integrate to form our entire holistic wellbeing.

I adopted the mindset that I am 100% responsible and accountable for all of my thoughts, words, emotions, beliefs, and actions. My shift in mindset was a game changer. It was a revelation. Yes, it was daunting. Yet I felt it was best to honestly face my responsibility with curiosity and compassion for myself.

Pilates is a life changer and when I combined my certification with life coaching it became an evolution in the art of holistic wellness. My life, work, and education has given me the tools to help women as I have taken ownership of helping myself.

Thus my purpose is to help guide women to first recognize and then transform the stress and challenges they face everyday. To see challenges as less daunting and overwhelming. To feel the joy and confidence as the unique and beautiful woman that THEY ARE. In doing so I hope to cause a chain reaction for those I touch to inspire holistic wellbeing within loved ones and their communities.
