Pilates GALS Origin

Pilates GALS was born from a set of values:

Growth + Adventure + Love + Strength

Life principles which are also embodied in the experience of Pilates mindful movements within a holistic wellness lifestyle. As a happy coincidence, Gals also means “more than one woman” which this community is all about! Specifically designed for women wellness enthusiasts, including those seeking a happier way of living.

Our Hive

Our hive is composed of women from varied walks of life and backgrounds who share the incredible joys and challenging lows that come from experiencing life. Just being together creates meaningful connections, friendships, and builds a sustainable community.

No matter what your background, conditions or circumstances are, both you and the community benefit from new friends, habits, ideas, and routines.  

Our hive is specifically created for women who are 35-60+ years old. Wellness enthusiasts who are ready to move the needle forward towards a happier and holistically healthy life. Members may already be in amazing condition or they may experience their own unique life challenges, pain, stress, worry, sadness, fear, or guilt.  

Pilates GALS offers various services for guiding women to build resilience through emotional empowerment, mindful compassion, and physical confidence.

We work together to change statements like, “I Cannot” into “I Can”.

The Pilates GALS

Pilates History

Joseph Pilates was a robust man until his death in 1967 at the age of 87.  He practiced what he preached, as he believed that the coordination of the body and mind was the key to health and well-being in all areas of life.

Pilates grew up with asthma, rickets, and rheumatic fever and purposely transformed himself through various weight, yoga, gymnastic, and martial arts movements. Pilates blended Eastern and Western disciplines of movement and mindful approaches to restore his own health. Thus the Pilates movements were born.

He once said, “If a spine is stiff at 30, you’re old. If a spine is flexible at 60, you’re young.  Pilates develops the deep muscles of the back and core to support the spine and focuses on breathing to promote better posture and to reduce unnecessary stress and tension in the body.”

Holistic Integrative Pilates

The trifecta effect is paramount for a more harmonious, calm, happy and sustainable lifestyle.  Holistic Integrative Pilates (HIP) is designed to work from the inside out, mindfully and intuitively with Pilates.  Healthy on Purpose (HOP) is a commitment to just be and do what brings you joy, fulfillment, strength and empowerment as you actively live your life.
